By 2050, Africa will be home to half a billion teenagers. Despite incredible potential, many will be trapped in cycles of poverty, violence, low education and poor health.
Accelerate Hub works with policymakers, NGOs and adolescents, and uses trials, cohorts, and adolescent participation.
Together we will seek ways to empower Africa's adolescents through boosting multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): health, safety, schooling, nutrition, employment, gender equality, and transmitting success to their children.
The UKRI GCRF Accelerating Achievement for Africa’s Adolescents (Accelerate) Hub generates evidence on which development accelerators – alone and in synergy with each other – can support adolescents in Africa to reach multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Accelerate Hub brings together interdisciplinary research teams focusing on supporting children and young people in thriving in the second decade of life: adolescence.
Our unified goal is to promote high-quality evidence to improve the lives of adolescents in resource-limited settings.
